I want to invite you along on a special ride with me and "Lone Star Loops." Just for us the state has paved the Backroads of Texas, creating a virtual playground.

Miles and miles of twisting, turning, climbing curved roads lead to the GREAT ESCAPES of the back country. These are the "out of the way" places with little traffic, and interesting people to visit along the routes.

Many motor cycle riders like to ride a route that is a loop. This way we can see more countryside, road and people in the same distance as an out and back route.

I am currently working my way through Central Texas, documenting the rides I encounter here. These will be in print very shortly. Should there be a ride you would like to share with other Texans please send it in. They too will appreciate it.

Today's pace of life is pretty hectic, I hope while on the "Lone Star Loops" you will be able to not "just stop and smell the roses" but get in touch with your nerve endings and sense your life and freedom. There are people and places out here waiting for your DISCOVERY. They LOVE motorcycles.

I've drawn maps for my friends of the places that I enjoy riding, and I've laid out these rides in a loop so a person can enter anywhere, complete it or go only as far as they wish. I've tried to keep the routes 100 to 160 miles around. This way riders can get there, do the Loop and still get home in a day. Some route maps are longer than others, and they are usually close in proximity to each other. You can go to an area for a day, long weekend or a week and ride quite a few "Lone Star Loops."

I've started in East Texas as this is close to my home and is also unknown to the vast majority of the riders in the state. There is an abundance of Farm-Market Roads and they all offer some great riding. The plus to this country is it's scenery, unpopulated riding, and it's nearness to the major metropolitan areas.
